PDF/EPS are true vector with CMYK and BWR β press-ready. PNG/JPG export in high resolution for screen and office printers.
About EAN-8
EAN-8 is a shortened version of EAN-13 for physically small products β chewing gum, lipstick, small electronics. The numbers are allocated individually by GS1 (they are a limited resource) and cannot be derived from your regular company prefix.
Used for
- Small packages where an EAN-13 will not fit
- Retail with point-of-sale scanning
Frequently asked questions
When should I choose EAN-8 over EAN-13?
Only when the package is too small for an EAN-13 at minimum 80% scale. GS1 allocates EAN-8 numbers restrictively because the number range is small.
Can I shorten my EAN-13 into an EAN-8 myself?
No. EAN-8 is a separate number range applied for separately with GS1 β an EAN-13 cannot be converted.
