Colors apply to every export. The scan check re-decodes the recolored code, so a low-contrast combination fails honestly — dark bars on a light background scan best.

About MSI Plessey
MSI (modified Plessey) is a numeric-only code that has survived mainly on shelf-edge labels and in older warehouse systems. It has no error protection beyond an optional Luhn check digit, so it should not be chosen for new applications.
