Compact stacked variant of PDF417 — for ID and logistics applications where the full format is too wide.
Print settings (PDF/EPS vector)
BWR compensates for dot gain on press — bars are drawn narrower in the file so they come out right on paper. Ask your printer for the recommended value (typical: 10–40 μm offset, 0 for thermal labels). Applies to PDF/EPS; SVG exports in black and white for screen use.
PDF/EPS are true vector with CMYK and BWR — press-ready. PNG/JPG export in high resolution for screen and office printers.
About Micro PDF417
Micro PDF417 is a space-optimized version of PDF417: a limited set of fixed column/row combinations without the wide start/stop patterns. It appears in ID applications, small logistics labels and as the composite component of GS1 DataBar codes.
Like Micro QR it is a niche format: dedicated scanners read it, consumer phone cameras generally do not.

Frequently asked questions
When Micro PDF417 instead of regular PDF417?
When width is the constraint and the data is small. For anything consumer-facing or high-capacity, regular PDF417 or QR is the safer choice.
