BWR compensates for dot gain on press β€” bars are drawn narrower in the file so they come out right on paper. Ask your printer for the recommended value (typical: 10–40 ΞΌm offset, 0 for thermal labels). Applies to PDF/EPS; SVG exports in black and white for screen use.

PDF/EPS are true vector with CMYK and BWR β€” press-ready. PNG/JPG export in high resolution for screen and office printers.

About UPC-E

UPC-E is a zero-suppressed form of UPC-A: zeros in the number are compressed away so the code becomes roughly half as wide. Only UPC-A numbers with a specific zero pattern can be compressed.

Frequently asked questions

Why can my number not be turned into a UPC-E?

Only UPC-A numbers with zeros in the right positions can be compressed. If your number has the wrong pattern there is no UPC-E form β€” use UPC-A or EAN-13.
