Micro QR generator
The miniature QR variant for tiny surfaces — a single position marker and very short content.
Print settings (PDF/EPS vector)
BWR compensates for dot gain on press — bars are drawn narrower in the file so they come out right on paper. Ask your printer for the recommended value (typical: 10–40 μm offset, 0 for thermal labels). Applies to PDF/EPS; SVG exports in black and white for screen use.
PDF/EPS are true vector with CMYK and BWR — press-ready. PNG/JPG export in high resolution for screen and office printers.
About Micro QR
Micro QR is the compact sibling of the QR code: one position marker instead of three and far less overhead, so it fits on component labels, jewelry tags and PCBs where a normal QR would not. The price is capacity — at most around 35 digits or 21 alphanumeric characters — and lower error correction.
Important caveat: many consumer phone cameras do not recognize Micro QR. Use it for industrial readers, and pick a regular QR code for anything consumers should scan.
Used for
- Electronics and PCB marking
- Tiny product labels (jewelry, tools)
- Industrial traceability with dedicated readers
Frequently asked questions
Why does my phone not read a Micro QR?
Many phone camera apps only support regular QR. Micro QR is aimed at industrial scanners — for consumer scanning, use a normal QR code.
Micro QR or DataMatrix for small surfaces?
DataMatrix usually wins: comparable size, higher capacity and much broader reader support, including EU pharma standards.
